From Kathmandu airport, there are just 20 domestic flights a day

The Nepal Civil Aviation Authority has set a daily limit on the number of domestic flights that can depart from Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International .

The decision is intended to reduce crowd sizes at the airport in order to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection.

Following a meeting with airline firms today, the authority made the announcement. It will remain in place until the next decision is made.

According to the new law, only 35 domestic flights are permitted to depart the airport each day.

The following have a certain number of flights available:

  • 18 flights by
  • Yeti Airlineswill operate 10 flights
  • Shree Airlines will operate 5 flights
  • Other airlines that operate to remote regions will operate 2 flights.

The government’s Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre had previously recommended that all domestic flights be cancelled.
