While the government plans to begin vaccinating residents aged 60 to 64 with Vero Cell vaccines given by China on Tuesday, it also claims that all individuals over the age of 18 in local units bordering China would receive the vaccines.
The Department of Health Services sent a circular to all provincial health service directors and supply agencies, instructing them to provide immunizations to residents above the age of 18 in the designated local units. In mountainous locations, adults over 55 will also receive the first dosage of the vaccination.
In the Kathmandu valley, people aged 60 to 64 will be vaccinated, while persons aged 62 to 64 would be prioritized in other regions. Only people aged 60-61 will be included in the vaccination program after they have been vaccinated.
People in these age groups have already gotten the first dose of vaccinations and are awaiting the second.
