According to the bank, the card will be accepted at almost all ATMs and POS terminals in Nepal and India. Students studying at Indian higher education institutions, tourists, and business people who move back and forth from India will benefit from the card.
The card will be accepted in contactless terminals, QR codes, and wallets, according to the bank.
The Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Ashok Shamsher Rana, expressed his delight at the launch of the HBN Union Pay SCT Card in partnership with Union Pay and SCT.
Himalayan Bank, he says, is Nepal’s only bank that accepts cards from the American Express, JCB, MasterCard, UnionPay, and Visa networks. Diners Club and Discover cards will be added to the bank’s portfolio in the near future.
