KATHMANDU: The Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) has launched a campaign titled “Let’s Collect Oxygen Cylinders, Save Lives” at a time when prohibitory orders are in effect due to the possibility of a new form of the coronavirus.
Office-bearers of the Society, including President Govinda Khanal, presented 10 large cylinders loaded with oxygen to Lumbini Province Health Minister Bhoj Prasad Shrestha.
The Ministry will supply the cylinders to COVID hospitals. On May 19, the Society fed monkeys in the Pashupati region and distributed food worth Rs 16,000 to the helpless cow safety movement.
Similarly, on May 16, the Society donated Rs 23,000 in food to the Conflict Victim and Disabled Society in Sankhu, Kathmandu, as well as masks and sanitizer to Jorpati Chowk.
On May 18, a delegation from the Society met with the mayor of Gokarneshwor municipality, Santosh Chalise, to discuss the establishment of an oxygen factory.
