On Saturday, separate fire incidents in the Banke and districts of western Nepal reduced at least 55 houses to ashes.

According to police, a fire broke out in Khodawa village in Narainapur rural municipality-4 of Banke in the Lumbini province on Saturday afternoon, completely destroying 120 homes.

Attempts to put out the fire resulted in the injuries of four people.

The fire, which started about 3:30 p.m. yesterday, was only put out after midnight.

The fire has yet to be brought under control due to a lack of water, according to ward chair Sher Bahadur Bohora.
