According to police, a fire broke out in Khodawa village in Narainapur rural municipality-4 of Banke in the Lumbini province on Saturday afternoon, completely destroying 120 homes.
Attempts to put out the fire resulted in the injuries of four people.
The fire, which started about 3:30 p.m. yesterday, was only put out after midnight.
According to preliminary investigations, it resulted in the loss of millions of dollars’ worth of products, including food, wood, clothing, and cash. To put out the fire, five fire engines were dispatched.
According to SP Om Bahadur Rana, the chief of the Banke District Police Office, police have yet to make a precise estimate.
Meanwhile, the Rastriya Samachar Samiti records that another fire broke out on Saturday night in Dhipugaun, Tila rural municipality-9, Jumla, Karnali, destroying 35 homes.
The fire has yet to be brought under control due to a lack of water, according to ward chair Sher Bahadur Bohora.
