In the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, Nepal received Rs 870.94 billion in remittances.
In terms of USD, remittance inflows increased by 10.4 percent to USD 7.39 billion in the review period, compared to a 5.2 percent decrease in the same period the previous year,” the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) said on Thursday in its review of the country’s current macroeconomic and financial situation.
According to the central bank, the number of Nepali workers who received pre-approval for foreign employment fell by 47.1 percent during the review period. In the same period the previous year, it had decreased by 31.1 percent.
The net transfer increased by 11.4 percent during the review period, reaching Rs 971 billion. This transfer had decreased by 3.9 percent in the previous year’s corresponding period.
