Kushal Bhurtel makes history by scoring 50 runs in three games in a row

On Tuesday, Nepal’s opening batsman Kushal Bhurtel made history at the TU Cricket Ground. Bhurtel has been the first in the history of international T20 cricket to score three half-centuries in as many games.

Bhurtel, 24, scored 62 runs in 46 balls against the Netherlands in the ongoing tri- series, hitting eight fours and one six before being dismissed by Vivian Kingma in the 15th over.

On 17, Bhurtel made his international debut against the Netherlands, scoring a 46-ball 62. On April 19, he was just as destructive and assured in his second game against , scoring an unbeaten 61 in just 41 balls.

He’s also the first Nepali cricketer to score three T20I fifties in a row. With this, Bhurtel is second only to Paras Khadka (5) in terms of the number of fifties he has scored for Nepal in T20Is.
