KATHMANDU: The popular stand-up comic duo Lekhmani Trital and Umesh Kumar Gautam of Nep-Gasm have been inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Trital and Gautam, stand-up comedians, smashed the previous world record by presenting a stand-up comedy show at Kalapatthar, which is located at an elevation of 5,302 meters.
Guinness Book of Global Records said on its website that comedy duo Lekhmani Trital and Umesh Kumar Gautam had created a new world record by breaking the world record set by Italian musician Paolo.
Previously, on April 25, 2019, Italian comedian Paolo set a record by performing stand-up comedy in Everest Base Camp (5,270 meters).
A Nep-Gasm technical crew flew to Kalapattthar on a Simrik Air flight in May to break the world record by organizing a stand-up concert at the highest altitude.
In addition to artists Trital and Gautam, the team included program coordinator Santosh Kumar Devkota, Director Gyanendra Mishra and Producer Ashish Shahi, cameraman Ashu Basnet, Altitude and Travel specialist Dipak Thapa, and Journalist Ramesh Jamarkattel.
