KATHMANDU, JANUARY 8
The NEA cut off electricity to Ncell’s Pokhara Data Centre on Sunday after the company’s officials disregarded repeated calls to clear dues. Thereafter, NEA called Ncell for talks to sort out the matter, but the telecom company has yet to respond, said Teknath Tiwari, the NEA chief for Pokhara office.
Ncell, however, moved Kaski District Court yesterday, disputing NEA claim. The court has summoned both sides for a hearing on January 13.
“We had offered them to clear their dues in instalments,” said Tiwari.
He said NEA was ready to defend its actions in court and claimed that it had taken all the decisions abiding by the existing rules and regulations.
NEA Lekhnath Distribution Centre claims that Ncell owes it Rs 138 million due to miscalculation by the meter installed at Ncell’s Pokhara Data Centre since the installation of the meter on 8 September 2012.
