LONDON: The Non-resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) will organize ‘NRN the Singer,’ a talent event aimed at identifying Nepali talents around the world.
According to the organizers, the musical reality show will premiere on June 21.
Nepalis aged 15 and up living in all countries except Nepal and the SAARC countries are eligible to compete.
The panel includes senior musician Shambhujeet Baskota, singers Shambhu Rai and Sharmila Bardewa, and former NRNA Chair Jeeva Lamichhane.
According to Lamichhane, the NRNA’s founding goal is also to safeguard and preserve Nepali language, literature, art, and culture, and the event is intended to be a milestone toward that end.
According to NRNA Chair Kumar Pant, because language, literature, and culture are important identities for non-resident Nepalis, this event was a top priority for the NRNA.
Govinda Prasad Gautam, the event’s chief coordinator, gave light on many facets of the program.
