President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and confidentiality to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday afternoon.
Oli, who had lost the premiership on Monday after failing to win a confidence vote in the House of Representatives, was reappointed on Thursday after the opposition parties were unable to form a majority coalition of their own.
Meanwhile, he named members of his old cabinet to the new cabinet as ministers.
Oli was supposed to bring some of the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction’s leaders into the administration, but he did not. Oli is expected to reshuffle his cabinet after persuading the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal to join the coalition, according to sources close to him.
Today, the new ministers were sworn in at the same ceremony.
