KATHMANDU: On May 25, the national men’s football team will travel to Iraq for a friendly match. The match will take place on May 29. The group will board a Qatar Airways plane.
The Nepali team will travel to Kuwait for a FIFA World Cup qualifying match after this match, according to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
Abdullah Almutairi, the coach of the Nepali national team, recently named a 23-member football team for friendly and qualifying matches, as well as the Asian Cup qualifying match.
Nepal has been assigned to Group B, where it will face Chinese Taipei, Jordan, and Australia in a World Cup qualifying match. Nepal has one win and four losses in the World Cup qualifying matches.
