OnePlus officially unveiled its latest flagship phones, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, on March 23, 2021, all over the . Since the company collaborated with the Hasselblad camera brand, this is one of the most anticipated phones from the company.

Except for the camera, OnePlus is regarded as one of the best on the market. This time, however, it could have solved that flaw. The new OnePlus 9 series provides several additional features that make the new phones a major improvement over the OnePlus 8 range, not just in the camera department.

The OnePlus 9 series has yet to be released in Nepal, but it will be available soon. So, let’s take a look at what new functionality it has for users.

Display and Design

The OnePlus 9 has a plastic shell, and the phone’s design is premium. Corning Gorilla Glass covers both the front and back of the handset. The handset is 8.70mm thick and weighs about 192 grams. The phone has a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with a 1080×2400 pixel resolution. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 87.6%. The display’s maximum is up to 1100 nits.

The OnePlus 9 Pro has an aluminum frame and a style that is identical to the OnePlus 9. Corning Gorilla Glass covers the phone’s front and back glass surfaces. The handset is slightly larger, weighing 197 grams and measuring 8.70mm thick. It has a stunning 6.7-inch LTPO Fluid2 AMOLED display with a resolution of 14403216 pixels and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.3 percent. The show reach up to 1300 nits of peak brightness.

Both phones have an optical fingerprint reader embedded in the monitor and dual stereo speakers. Both phones have a 120Hz refresh rate and can display ultra-high resolution. The OnePlus 9 Pro, on the other hand, comes with an official IP68 dust/water endorsement, which the One Plus 9 lacks.

Camera

The camera on the new OnePlus 9 series is the most anticipated feature. To improve its camera game, the company has teamed up with the Hasselblad camera company. On the back of the OnePlus 9, there are three cameras. A 48MP omnidirectional PDAF camera is the main sensor, with a 50MP ultrawide camera and 2MP depth sensors supporting it. The OnePlus 9 Pro, on the other hand, has a quad-camera setup on the back. On the back of the Pro, there is an external optical zoom, a laser autofocus module, and an optional microphone. When recording videos, the additional microphone aids in noise reduction. The phone has a 48-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. An additional 8MP telephoto lens with a 3.3x optical zoom is included.

Both phones have a 16MP selfie camera with -HDR and 1080p @ 30fps video recording capability. Both phones’ rear cameras can also capture videos at [email protected] 30 frames per second. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 9 Pro can capture 4K video at 120 frames per second, while the OnePlus 9 can only record at 60 frames per second. On both cameras, there is a dual-LED flash.

Battery life and performance

The OnePlus 9 series is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and runs OxygenOS 11, which is based on Android 11. This is a significant improvement in CPU and GPU output over the OnePlus 8 series. This phone’s chipset is likely the best that a smartphone will have right now.

A 4500mAh non-removable battery powers the OnePlus 9 series. Both of these phones can be charged from 0 to 100% in 29 minutes using a 65W quick charger, which is incredible. You just need to charge your phone for half an hour and you can use it all day. Both phones have wireless charging capabilities, but the OnePlus 9 Pro has a significant advantage over the OnePlus 9. The OnePlus 9 Pro has a 50W fast wireless charging range, compared to the OnePlus 9’s 15W. Wireless charging charges the Pro from 0% to 100% in just 43 minutes.

Connectivity and storage

The OnePlus 9 series is available in two sizes: 8/128 and 2/256 GB. There is no MicroSD card slot, as with previous OnePlus phones, to expand the phone’s capacity.

Dual nano sim cards are supported by both devices. The machines do not have a 3.5mm headphone port. Both devices have Wi-Fi 802.11 and Bluetooth 5.2 capabilities. They both have USB type-C 3.1 ports and can connect to a 5G network.

The OnePlus 9 series has yet to be officially published in Nepal, but it is expected to arrive soon. The OnePlus 9 is expected to cost Rs 80,000 for 8/128GB and Rs 90,000 for 12/256GB, while the OnePlus 9 Pro could cost Rs 105,000 for 8/128GB and Rs 115,000 for 12/256GB.
