KATHMANDU: Opposition parties have been challenged by Prime Minister KP Oli to form a new government by deposing him.
Prime Minister Oli has stated that he is willing to remain in the opposition and support the government constructively.
PM Oli told reporters in Baluwatar on Friday, “I happily welcome the establishment of an alternative government.”
“I called Deuba this morning and asked him to form the government. If not, I invited him to join my government so that it could take on a more national shape.”
Prime Minister Oli also said that if the opposition parties backed him, the parliament would not be dissolved.
“Support me if you can’t form a new government,” he urged the opposition parties, adding, “Did I ever say I’m going to dissolve parliament?”
He urged opposition parties to join him in forming a national government and fighting the CONVID-19 pandemic together.
