KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has expressed his displeasure with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s language in his statement to President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Saturday.
PM Oli said, “Today I saw the official statement of Nepali Congress President Deuba,” adding, “He used derogatory terms to address the President.”
He wondered if the NC President would address noble families’ dignitaries in the same way.
“Would he have used the same vocabulary if it had been about a feud or an aristocratic family member?” “It is shameful that the leaders who used to be subservient to the royalists are speaking humiliatingly about the country’s elected president,” PM Oli said.
He went on to say that the NC President’s rhetoric against President Bhandari was anti-republican.
