In 2021, the Human Resources Department of South Korea (HRD) has set a quota of 5,400 citizens for Nepal. According to the Employment Permit System (EPS) branch of the Department of Foreign Employment, this is the amount for passing the language and ability examination.
For the year 2021, HRD has set a quota of 52,000 foreign employees. The quota applies to 16 countries around the world.
Since 2008, those who have passed the Korean language test in Nepal have been transported to South Korea by EPS. Because of the coronavirus in countries that supply foreign employees, the Korean government decided not to conduct the Korean language test in 2020.
Via EPS, more than 45,000 Nepali youths have gone to South Korea to work. 40,000 young people are currently working there.
