KATHMANDU: The government has set aside Rs. 20.31 billion for the building and improvement of four international airports and other domestic airports in the 2019 fiscal year.
Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel announced the fiscal year 2021/22 budget on Saturday, saying Rs 8.5 billion has been set up for the development of Pokhara Regional International Airport. Similarly, Rs 6.95 billion has been set aside to transform Tribhuvan Airport into a boutique airport, expand the taxiway, and construct a terminal building.
Finance Minister Poudel has authorized Rs 3.53 billion for additional work at Gautam Buddha Airport in Bhairahawa, as well as the development of a second terminal.
In the coming fiscal year, the government has set aside Rs 1.33 billion for the construction of infrastructure at domestic airports.
