According to Baluwatar sources, the SC meeting will begin at 4 p.m. at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
The meeting is expected to take action against the Nepal-Khanal party, according to sources.
On the Prime Minister’s advice, President Bhandari dissolved the House of Representatives and called for mid-term elections on November 12 and 19, a year ahead of time.
The President’s Office said in a statement that on the advice of the cabinet, the President dissolved the House under Article 76(7) of the Constitution.
The President’s decision to call mid-term elections has been met with opposition from the UML’s dissatisfied group.
The meeting has been convened at a time when the Nepal-Khanal group, in cooperation with opposition parties, is preparing a plan to prevent the dissolution of parliament.
