KATHMANDU: As the effects of Cyclone ‘Yaas’ continue, the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has expected rain in several regions of the nation on Sunday.
According to MFD, cyclone ‘Yaas’ is steadily diminishing as it approaches India’s northwest area.
However, the low-pressure system formed as the storm made landfall has resulted in mainly gloomy weather with modest rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
According to the Division, the weather will stay partly to usually cloudy over the country, with the possibility of light, moderate to severe rain.
Thunder and lightning are also predicted in a few areas of the country, according to the forecast.
Meanwhile, the MFD has issued a warning that heavy rain is expected in Pradesh 2, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Pradesh on Sunday.
Landslides have occurred in several districts of Gandaki Pradesh as a result of the recent rainfall.
Because of the constant rains, the water level in rivulets and rivers has risen, creating a risk to those who live along the river’s banks.
